Since the update in fall of 2011, achievements are forcefully showed in a language which the region of your account mainly associated with when you download your profile to a console, no matter what language setting your console have. I have a Japanese account, so most of my achievements are now shown in Japanese after I downloaded my profile, though the language setting of my console is English.
I understand that ads, promotions, something like that must be in line with the account region, and be shown in the region's main language. But I really want you to make achievements an exception of this restriction and let us choose any language we like by the language setting.
My main gripe with achievements in my own language is translations. Too often those translations are amateurish, utterly wrong, or downright nonsense. I like achievements too much to put up with such a ugly listing. Additionally, I frequently use sites which are dedicated with achievements, and it's very confusing achievements on my console are all Japanese but the sites list those in English.
I am not demanding a big change, just give us back the freedom to chose how our achievements are shown on our console because it was exactly the way it was before the last year's update. I really hope this issue is fixed in next update.
